A short video by Dr Katie Bramhall- Stainer Chair of the GPC commenting on the referendum outcome is here-

Following the referendum of GPs on the proposals of the NHSE for the GP Contract 24 /25, (in which 75% of GPs returned a 99% rejection of them) the GPC has issued a formal notice declaring a dispute. The letter from Dr K Bramhall – Stainer to Amanda Pritchard CEO of NHSE is attached.

A letter advising ICBs to place GP action on their Risk Registers has also been sent to them.No particulars of the action which might be taken has been divulged and Regional GPC Road shows will take place to allow GPs to discuss their views on the dispute, the various forms action which can be taken and the timeliest means of applying them.

The Northwest GPC Contract 24, Dispute Road Show is planned for 6th June and will take place in Warrington. Please note this in your diary – we will let you know the details of time and venue shortly.

A formal ballot of GPs will be held on any proposal for action.

The Referendum found that some GPs did not receive a voting link and were unable to pace their vote. This was caused by out-of-date information held on the GPC/ BMA register of eligible voters held by GPC/BMA being out of date for some GPs.
