Following the contributions made to the recent national consultation exercise on the experience and relevance of CQC regulation in general practice, the CQC has reviewed its Assessment and Ratings Framework for general practice, OOH services and NHS111.
A new framework has been devised, which is claimed to be ‘more proportionate’. The inspection cycle will take place every 5-years for those practices rated “Good or Outstanding”, and the inspection visit is expected to be more focussed rather than comprehensive. The new framework will be implemented in November 2017.
